About Me

I grew up in Bakersfield, California and spent most of my high school years dreaming about college.  Having never been outside the Golden State, I took college as an opportunity to live somewhere else for a while, so my best friend and writing buddy Sannie joined me on an adventure to Huntington, West Virginia. Yes, a lot of people do think we are crazy.

I majored in English (emphasis in Creative Writing) and minored in Japanese language.  I’m still considering finishing off the Japanese as a major. I don’t know what exactly to do with my degree yet, other than writing. So far, I’ve had five poems published in two different magazines.  In addition to poetry, I’d like to write fiction, especially novels for kids and teens.

At Marshall University, I met Levi, that handsome mustachioed man pictured with me above, and we fell in love. I am a writer and he is an illustrator; we make a perfect match. Now, three years later, having decided we’d like to keep each other forever, we  are joyfully married, and it’s wonderful.

Currently we live in Huntington in a comfy apartment with Sannie while Levi finishes his degree. We plan adventures and make up stories and have Netflix marathons and eat too many snacks. We read and paint and draw and play games and generally have good times together. Someday, we’d like to live in the Pacific Northwest.

Thank you for your interest in my work and my little world.
